Terms & Conditions
Last updated 31 August 2026
These are the terms you accept when you register for My Career Developer. They are written to be read, not to be skipped, so they are short and say what they mean.
Accepting these terms
You accept these terms when you tick the box on the registration form, or when you register or sign in using Google. If you do not accept them, do not create an account.
We record the date and the version of the terms you accepted. If we change them materially we will update the date above and ask you to accept the new version.
What the service does
My Career Developer takes a CV you upload, has an AI model review it, and returns a score, a verdict, and written feedback. That is the whole of what we provide.
The review is a machine-generated opinion. It is not professional careers advice, not a recruitment decision, and not a statement about your abilities or your prospects.
Who can use it
You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement. The service is built for job seekers reviewing their own CV.
Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your password and your email account secure, and for everything done through your account.
- One person, one account. Do not share an account, and do not create multiple accounts to get around the free review limit.
- Give us an email address you actually control. Password resets and verification codes go there.
- Your account name can be changed once from your dashboard.
Free and premium reviews
Every account gets 1 free saved CV review. Premium gives an account 5 review credits, where one review spends one credit. Deleting a review does not restore a used review, because the allowance counts reviews you have run rather than reviews you currently have saved.
Premium is arranged by email at present. Prices and plan details are on the pricing page and can change; a change never affects a period you have already paid for.
Premium payments are non-refundable. Once a premium period starts, or once any review credit has been used, the payment for it cannot be refunded, including where the period is unused or ends early because you close your account or we close it for a breach of these terms. This does not affect any refund right you have under law that cannot be excluded.
What you upload
- Upload only your own CV, or one you have the right to upload and have permission to have processed.
- Do not upload someone else's personal data, confidential or classified material, or anything you are contractually barred from sharing.
- Do not upload malware, or files crafted to attack or overload the service.
- You keep all rights in your CV. You grant us only the permission we need to run the service: to store the file, extract its text, send that text to our AI provider for review, and show you the result.
- Uploading a CV means accepting that its text is processed by a third-party AI provider. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly who and exactly what is sent.
Acceptable use
- Do not scrape, resell, or redistribute the reviews or any other part of the service.
- Do not attempt to break, probe, or bypass the free review limit, the login system, or any other control.
- Do not use the service to build a competing product, or to train another model on its output.
- We can suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and will tell you why when we do.
AI-generated feedback and its limits
AI models get things wrong. A review may misread a section of your CV, miss something important, or give advice that does not suit your industry or country. Treat it as a starting point and use your own judgement.
We do not guarantee that acting on a review will get you an interview, a job offer, or past any employer's screening system. No part of the service is a promise of employment.
Your data
How we store your CV, who processes it, and how long we keep it are all set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
You can delete a single review, all of your CVs and reviews, or your whole account at any time from the Your data section of your dashboard. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service running but do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, and we may impose new limits, though we will not do so in a way that removes something you have already paid for.
Any material change to these terms will be published here with a new date.
Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost opportunities or earnings, or for decisions you make on the basis of a review.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death, personal injury, or fraud.
Ending your use
You can stop using the service and delete your account from your dashboard at any time, with no notice and no charge.
We may close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Where we do, we will delete the data held under it on the same basis as if you had closed it yourself.
